[Opinion] Kwara: Of Babaimole&Onirakunmi’s arrests, Kwarans’ Continuous Tormenting, Gov AA’s Tyrannical Approach And KWSG Shamelessness

The kind of unprecedented democratic-heist going on in Kwara State should be a concern for every right thinking Kwaran.
Bad examples are being laid, bad precedence are being set and bad records are being created. If none of these got challenged and right, the consequences are capable of consuming all of us. You might think it’s only Babaimole and/or PDP members today, tomorrow, which none of us have control over, it might yours or my own turn. This is why we must all rise to say no to this ‘impunity’ and other bad precedence which are being set in Kwara State.
It’s the case of arrest of Alfa Abdulganiyu Babaimole, who was arrested on his way from Ilorin Central Mosque, after his completion of last Friday’s Jumuat prayer, we went to settle yesterday when Muhammed Soliu Onirankunmi was brought through his close friend, Jimoh Olamilekan Abdulwaheed, who was used to track him.
Abdulwaheed’s phone was tracked/hacked by Nigerian Police Force(NPF) as ordered by KWSG led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq where it was discovered that he’s a close associate of Onirankunmi and resultantly invited after which he took them to Onirankunmi’s house where the latter got arrested.
Kwarans, this is the current work of KWSG led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. Every Kwaran’s phone, especially those of opposition members, is being tracked/hacked. No one is allowed to air their views on any wrong move, bad policy, irresponsible spending, etc, of the current tyrannical Government of APC in Kwara State.
As Kwarans and members of PDP, who have been of great help to Kwara State and Kwarans by exposing Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led KWSG on every of their wrong doings, we got to Kwara State Police Headquarters yesterday in order to secure bail for our arrested members as well as to trash the list of some Kwarans which KWSG gave to police for arrest.
After waiting for a very long period, we were told that Alfa Babaimole had been charged to Akerebiata Area Court for speaking against what everyone knows as the ‘poorly constructed’ Tunde Idiagbon/Tanke Flyover while Onirankunmi was writing his statement at the time.
We got to Akerebiata Area Court. Waited for a very long period as well before we were told that the case had been transferred to Magistrate court. We left for Magistrate Court immediately and waited, as usual.
Another call also came that Babaimole should be brought back to Police Headquarters. After getting here, we were told that the case had been transferred to another court in the name of “Revenue Court” on a civil case.
This looked like where the case would be heard. We were told to enter the court room which we all did in great numbers. We sat for close to 20-30mins before “another call” came in that the case would not be heard there.
We then went back to Magistrate court where the case was said to had been redirected back to, shamelessly.
In a very short period, we were made to realize that Babaimole had been asked to be taken back to CID department of police headquarters where he had been kept since last week Friday he got arrested, after taking him round four (4) different courts.
We were all frustrated, furious and disappointed the way we were unnecessarily stressed and our colleagues were denied access to justice in the hand of a tyrant pretending to be a democratically elected public officer.
We were all expressing our disappointment when a source revealed that the case was repeatedly rejected from all courts we had been to for its lack of merit. But KWSG led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq wanted to remand Babaimole, Onirankunmi and others at all cost. As a result, the case was postponed to the following day, which is today, for its hearing.
However, despite KWSG led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq wanted to take the case through the ‘back door’, as usual, just to make sure these people got remanded, they all later put to shame and justice prevailed. Babaimole and Onirankunmi were granted bail as against their plan to remand both and others in prison unjustly.
No one should ask KWSG led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to stop tormenting Kwarans. They should continue with their tyrannical and their shamelessness. Posterity will remember and reward everyone when the time comes appropriately and accordingly.
Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, is being remember today as a respecter of Democracy and ‘an Architect of modern Kwara’ while he’s still alive and contributing, meaningfully, to the development of both Kwara State and Kwarans.
What would they be remembered for/as in the nearest future with their current lack of meaningful contributions to develop Kwara State for over 5 years now and with the way they have continued to making life very hard and unbearable for Kwarans?
